Coat & Outerwear Manufacturer
Coat and outerwear manufacturing for brands, in volume
Outerwear is usually the highest-value piece in a range and the most technical to get right. Heavy cloth has to drape, padding has to sit evenly, and a technical shell is only as good as its seams. At volume, those details decide whether a coat sells through or comes back.
Sampling available, quoted per project.
We produce three families of outerwear for brands and retailers: tailored wool coats, padded and quilted jackets, and technical outerwear. Bring your own designs, or develop a private label range with us, for menswear and womenswear.
Wool and tailored coats
Single- and double-breasted overcoats, car coats, stand-collar and belted styles, and wrap and longline coats for womenswear. The craft is in the cloth and the canvas: collar and lapel shape, shoulder line, interlining weight and buttonholes all have to be consistent across every size and every piece.
Padded and quilted outerwear
Puffer jackets, quilted jackets, gilets and padded parkas. What matters here is the fill, whether down, feather or synthetic wadding, distributed evenly and held in place, with quilting lines that stay straight across panels and seams. Fill type and weight are agreed at sample stage and checked during production, so the last jacket is as warm and even as the first.

Technical outerwear
Shell jackets, rain jackets and performance layers, where the fabric specification, taped or bonded seams, zips and hardware all affect how the garment performs. Where your customers expect water resistance or other performance properties, we work to the specification and testing standards you set and document them for your order.
Planning your outerwear calendar
Outerwear is normally the first part of a season to go into development, because cloth, fill and trims need confirming before production can be scheduled. The earlier we see your brief, the more options stay open, and we will give you a realistic plan for your project when we quote.
Step by Step
How an outerwear project runs
Outerwear has more components than most garments, so materials are locked down before sampling goes far.
Brief and specification
Send sketches, a tech pack or a reference coat, with your target volumes and delivery window. We review the construction with our technicians and quote.
Fabric, fill and trims
Cloth, linings, fill, zips and hardware are selected and approved, and any performance or testing requirements are recorded at this stage.
Sampling
Proto and fit samples are developed until shape, weight and finish are right. Sampling is available and quoted per project.
Pre-production sign-off
A pre-production sample, complete with trims and labels, becomes the standard for the bulk order.
Bulk production with on-site checks
Our technicians follow production in person, from cloth inspection and fill weights to seam quality and pressing, through the whole run.
Final inspection and shipping
Coats are inspected, packed to your requirements and shipped with the compliance documentation for your order.

Frequently asked questions
- Do you make both men's and women's coats?
- Yes. We produce menswear and womenswear outerwear, from tailored overcoats to wrap coats, padded jackets and technical shells.
- Do you produce padded and quilted jackets?
- Yes. Puffer jackets, quilted jackets, gilets and padded parkas, with down, feather or synthetic fill agreed at sample stage and checked during production.
- Can you make technical or waterproof outerwear?
- Yes, to your specification. Performance properties depend on fabric and construction, so we work to the standards and testing you specify and document them for your order.
- When should we start sampling for an autumn/winter delivery?
- As early as you can. Outerwear needs cloth, fill and trims confirmed before production is scheduled, so it usually starts before the rest of a range. We will give you a realistic plan when we quote.
- Can you match a coat we already sell?
- Yes. A reference coat is a good starting point. We use it to build the specification and confirm the result through samples before bulk production.
- Can coats be produced alongside a suit range?
- Yes. Overcoats and tailored jackets can be developed together with a suit programme, so cloth, trims and branding coordinate across the range.
